To the Editor:
The Constitution of the United States guarantees us the freedom of religion, not freedom from religion, which is a common misconception. Every American has the right "to worship or not to worship" as they choose, and the First Amendment prohibits the federal government from either establishing a national church or interfering with existing state religions. I feel the choice is under threat, as is the rule of law.
While we all enjoy many freedoms in this country, some good, some not so good, depending on your views. I hope more people will remember the Golden Rule: "treat others as you would like them to treat you."
Christianity without the Golden Rule is not attractive. Your neighbors may choose to live their life differently than you. And that is the freedom our constitution grants us.
