Educators hiding the truth

To the editor:

There are many attempts being made to destroy this country from within. That is the only way it can be done my high school teachers told me, who were mostly WWII veterans.

One of those attempts today is critical race theory. This is an attempt to turn people of different races against one another. It is being very skillfully done. To simplify it, it is an attempt to convince people that if your skin is a given color (white) you are an oppressor, if your skin is a different color you are oppressed. This is being taught to young people in the class room.

Schools say they do not teach CRT, but it is taught under different verbiage. July 2021, the National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest teachers’ union, at its annual meeting approved a resolution to publicly “convey its support” for critical race theory, oppose restrictions in state legislatures, promote political activism in schools and “teach lessons about structural racism and oppression.”

The NEA also resolved to “research” organizations that oppose critical race theory — including grassroots parent organizations — and provide resources to groups and individuals targeting them. Look up Laura Morris who was a teacher at Lucketts Elementary School in Leesburg, Virginia.

That is also why the people in charge of what should be taught in the state of Minnesota want to give the Civil War a low priority when it comes to teaching history. They would like to hide the truth that thousands of white people gave their lives to free thousands of black people from slavery.
