Staff at Marshall library eager to help
To the editor:
This letter is in response to Barbra Springer’s Aug. 13 letter to the editor. In her letter, Barbra claimed the average person might have difficulty locating sources or verifying the many claims made by others, especially, apparently, those who write Letters to the Editor.
I understand it can be difficult to locate and authenticate academic sources like those which I provided on Aug. 10, and I wanted to offer her some polite advice.
Here in Marshall, we have an outstanding public library with an exceptionally qualified staff which is eager to help anyone with their questions. They astound me with the rapidity and skill with which they can traverse the vast online resources available to us. If you are having any trouble verifying sources, please, stop by our library. It is a wonderful place filled with kind and generous people, and it is a highly underutilized resource available to everyone here in our fine community.
And they are very good at what they do.
Moreover, they don’t just help people locate sources. In fact, I think many people would marvel at the wide assortment of other things which they offer. Not only are their shelves filled with stories of medieval adventure, space odyssey and post-apocalyptic mayhem (my favorites), but they also have countless academic resources like the papers I referenced. You can even check-out movies, puzzles, video games, and board games, all of which can help make family-night into something extra special. They have hotspots available as well as an absolutely fabulous children’s wing, complete with computers and science project kits for the kids.
Would you believe our library even has cake pans and cookie-cutters available for those who wish to help improve their culinary masterpieces?
It really is a place to help make you into the best you that you can be. Stop by and check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
