Sending the right message to students
To the editor:
Regarding the letter headlined, “Diversity and inclusion in schools”, it must be understood that “Yes,” we are all individuals, just as no two snowflakes are exactly alike.
Inclusion must be truly inclusive.
Please consider these questions: How did the rainbow flag represent and support students who desire to live according to God’s will as stated in His Word?
Did teachers, administration, support staff and school board members have a symbol to support these students? What is needed to show real inclusion?
What is needed are individual hearts that include all people with words and actions that convey the message, “You are important to me.”
The benefits of teaching that message to all students will be immediate and long term as they learn to convey that same message to others.
