Representative Swedzinski must hold Walz accountable

To the editor:

For a year now, our tyrannical governor has pushed illegal and unconstitutional executive orders that have violated his oath of office and destroyed the livelihoods of our friends and neighbors. When our district needed Representative Chris Swedzinski to stand up to Gov. Walz’ tyranny, he abandoned us.

Gov Walz has done the same damaging things as Gov. Cuomo has done in New York. The Walz-Cuomo policy put COVID-positive patients into nursing homes is unthinkable. But one thing is different. Even Democrat legislators in N.Y. recognize wrong when they see it and half of the N.Y. Legislature called for Cuomo to resign — many calling for impeachment.

The good news is officials like Representative Erik Mortensen (55A) introduced articles of impeachment to fight for us and hold Walz accountable for violating his oath to uphold the state and U.S. Constitution. The bad news is that Rep. Swedzinski is refusing to sign on to Mortensen’s impeachment resolution and letting Walz off the hook.

Impeachment is the remedy for our out-of-control governor that has flaunted Minnesotans and his oath for too long. Article 8, Section 2 of the Minnesota Constitution spells it out: “The governor … may be impeached for corrupt conduct in office or for crimes and misdemeanors.” There nothing more shameful than forcing contagious people into nursing homes.

Go to walzimpeachment.com and join our neighbors by signing the petition to impeach Walz now. We must work together to bring an end to this madness.
