Bad decisions don’t deserve forgiving student debt

Today (Feb. 4) I watched as the Senate Majority Leader; Chuck Schumer was giving a speech in regard to forgiving student debt of up to $50,000. He said this “burden” is interfering with purchases of new cars, homes and vacations. Well excuse me.

When did anyone get forced into going to an overpriced college? Congress members who probably have never held a real job are proposing to have the rest of us bail out those who have made poor decisions.

Perhaps two years at a community college to get on a path that will lead to a career that will actually benefit society. America also has a need for students going into the much needed trade industry and job placement is near 100%.

Bottom line, make responsible choices and don’t look for someone else to pay your way.
