Dahms rejects liquor to go
To the editor:
The Minnesota legislature voted on Monday night to pass a $216 million COVID19 relief package aimed at small businesses and workers. This is good news. But guess who helped vote down an amendment that would have allowed To-Go sales of growlers and cocktails? Senator Gary Dahms.
Dahms spoke on the Senate floor saying this would probably only hurt small businesses, saying that for “Some of the small craft breweries, this may be an issue.” Yet he said it didn’t matter because the legislature has helped them enough already.
To-Go orders are safe and a good way for businesses to keep sales up. It makes no sense to limit business like this. Shame on Senator Dahms.
