Peterson is far from being a conservative

To the editor:

In response to Merlin Marlowe’s letter to the editor dated Oct. 14 entitled “Peterson has conservative ideas” — Peterson is far from conservative.

The writer sites various issues on which Collin Peterson is “conservative”.

However, don’t let Collin’s vote against impeaching President Trump fool you. In 2016, Peterson endorsed radical Senator Bernie Sanders for President, and recently said he is on the “Biden Bandwagon” and has been for a while. In fact, Peterson endorsed Joe Biden for President in 1987. How can Peterson be “conservative” yet endorse Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden?

Also, if Collin were the “conservative” he claims to be every two years, how come he goes to Washington and votes for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House? Roll Call cites Peterson has voted for Pelosi to be Speaker of the House seven times. Furthermore, ProPublica 9/14/20 cites Peterson votes with Pelosi 4 out of 5 times. Peterson also said on June 11 that the Ag Committee has been “neutered”. Collin and his long-time supporters tout his “push and pull” on the Ag Committee, yet Peterson is on the record saying his committee is neutered.

Collin is wrong for too long; since 1991. I strongly encourage you to join me in casting your ballot for President Trump endorsed candidate Michelle Fischbach, the true and only conservative running for Congress.
