Understand different forms of government

What is Marxism? Communism? Socialism? Capitalism?

From the Oxford Language Dictionary:

Marxism is a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism. Karl Marx is the author of the “Communist Manifesto.” From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Karl Marx

Communism is the political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is state owned and each person works and is paid to his abilities and needs. The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: “Abolition of private property.”

Socialism aims to substitute private property for social ownership.

Capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
