Education is a key to success

To the editor:

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” –Nelson Mandela.

A college education will help you have a brighter future all around. When you go to college you will have more opportunities and experiences while meeting new people. Also, a

successful career or even getting a good paying job requires some years of college. Lastly, there are a lot of people who don’t attend college because of how expensive it is, but there are a lot of ways that you can help pay for college.

College education will help you with your future career. According to the Workforce at Georgetown University, employers would rather want to work with people who have a college education. It’s proven that college graduates make more money. The average income for people 25 years old and older with a high school diploma was $35,615, while the income for

those with a bachelor’s degree was $65,482, and $92,525 for those with advanced degrees. 85% of Forbes’ 2012 America’s 400 Richest People list were college graduates.

Lastly, the percent of high school graduates going to college is decreasing. One of the reasons for that is because of the rising cost. There are a lot of ways you can help pay for college. You can get scholarships, like athletic, GPA scholarships, and music scholarships.

There are many more, but those are just a few of the main ones. Also, you can take out loans and pay them back eventually.

Overall, a college education will help you have a brighter future. Going to college creates new opportunities, you will have a more successful career, and there are ways to help pay to have a successful, more educated career. So, consider taking your future to the next step by

getting a college education. You can apply for grants on, http://www.grants.gov/.
