Short Takes for Dec. 2

Independent’s new website

THUMBS UP:

The Independent has a new website that readers should find easier to read and navigate. The new website is more mobile friendly. More photos can be seen on the website, and maps will be added in the next few weeks, so readers will know exactly where an event is taking place.

Canby pharmacy dilemma

THUMBS DOWN:

Blue Cross Blue Shield needs to provide better service to Canby customers. Certain Canby residents can’t fill their prescriptions at the local pharmacy because the local pharmacy has not been able to contract with the new BCBS Blue Connect or Network E insurance program. In addition, the local pharmacist has not been able to communicate with the company to try to rectify the situation. Canby customers will have to drive to other towns to fill their prescriptions.
