SCOTTSDALE, AZ--Nancy Ann Mukomela, age 61, passed away on September 20, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born on December 11, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in Owatonna, Minnesota, where she made many cherished memories and lifelong connections.
Nancy attended Owatonna High School, graduating in 1983. She later earned her BA in Business at Metro State University in St. Paul, MN. After meeting on the softball field, she married Mark Mukomela on October 13, 1990. They lived in Billings, MT and Florence, KY before returning to Minnesota, where they spent many years. At the time of her passing, they had retired to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Nancy and Mark shared a love of dogs and raised many over the years with love and commitment. She was an excellent cook, always trying new recipes and perfecting old favorites. She loved all sports, especially golf and cheering on her beloved Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. Professionally, Nancy spent much of her career as a software implementation consultant. She took great pride in her work, especially the relationships she formed with clients across the globe.
Nancy had a heart of gold and a kind soul. Family was an important part of her life, and she treasured the time she spent with those closest to her.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mark; her brother, Mike Monahan (Shari); brother-in-law Richard Mukomela (Elizabeth); sister-in-laws Kristi Mukomela (Mark Everson), Kari Lee (Greg), and Karla Baird (Marty); many nieces and nephews, including Karli, Ryan, Heather, Adam, Katie, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Matthew, and Jackson, along with 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Arlene Monahan, her grandparents, Herb and Ester Hemme and Floyd and Mary Monahan, an infant sister, and a great-niece.
Nancy will be remembered for her wonderful generosity, kind spirit, and love of family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
