MARSHALL--Jim Pingeon, age 90, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, Minnesota. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The afternoon will conclude with a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. Following a reception at the Hamilton Funeral Home, interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery. James William Pingeon was born in St. James, Minnesota, on March 15, 1936. He was the son of Marshall and Hazel (Bales) Pingeon. Jim grew up in the areas surrounding St. James, Madelia, and Butterfield and he went to school in Lamberton, Minnesota. Shortly thereafter he met Patricia Lou Sheimo.
Jim and Patsy were united in marriage on March 18, 1961, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The couple made their home near Lamberton on a farm and then moved to Amiret in 1975, and later to Marshall where they spent the last several decades. Patsy died in 2010 and Jim continued to live at the family home until 2023 when he move moved into Hill Street Place.
Jim was a devoted and hard-working farmer. He loved to care for the land, his hogs, and his trucks. He retired at the age of 70 and then turned his passion for driving truck into fishing and spent countless hours on the water.
James Pingeon died on September 28, 2026, in Tracy, Minnesota. He reached the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 13 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his 4 children, Dennis Welter of Marshall, Debora Pingeon of Marshall, Mike (and Pam) Pingeon of Brandon, Sue (and Steve) West of Walnut Grove; 5 grandchildren, Bryan Pingeon (and Staci) of Eagan, Brent (and Kristi) Pingeon of Lakeville, Brandon (and Malia) Pingeon of Lynd, Kyle (and Melody) West of Walnut Grove, Amber (and Dale III) Johnson of Tracy; 15 great-grandchildren, Spencer, Isaiah, Carter, Daniel, Mason, Alayna, Macy, Evan, Liam, Olivia, Hudson, Madison, Finley, Maverick, Emery; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Hazel Pingeon; wife, Patricia Pingeon; and 9 siblings.
