MARSHALL -- Services for Gary Smidt, 80, of Marshall are 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial with military honors will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. A reception for attendees will then be held back in the church. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue one hour prior to his celebration, from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Arrangements are with Hamilton Funeral Home of Marshall. He died Wednesday, Sept. 2, under the care of Hospice, at his home.
