MESA, AZ--Roberta "Bobbi" Jean Bredeson, born August 16, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Tempe, Arizona, surrounded by the love of her family.
Bobbi was born to Howard and Signa Reiter (Illstrup). She spent her childhood in Howard Lake, Minnesota, until her family moved to Canby, Minnesota, in 1950. She later attended Gustavus Adolphus College. Throughout her life, Bobbi worked at Canby Hospital, a local dental office, and Canby High School, while also building a home ceramics business.
In 1971, Bobbi married the love of her life, William Bredeson. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, centered on family. Bill proudly adopted Bobbi's three children upon their marriage, and together they built a life filled with love, support, and countless memories. Whether cheering from the stands at sporting events or attending activities, family was always at the heart of everything they did.
Bobbi and Bill spent much of their lives in Canby and Lake Cochrane before moving to Naples, Florida, and eventually settling in Mesa, Arizona. Bobbi loved crafting, golfing, playing cards, attending shows, and, above all, spending time with her friends and family.
While she was known as "Bobbi" to many, she was at her very best as Grandma, Gma, and Gigi. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and supported. She was always there to cheer you on, answer a cross-country phone call, or welcome you for a visit. One of her favorite words was "Awesome," and it perfectly describes the way so many people saw her. And for as long as there is a five minutes to 5:00, there will always be a toast raised in Bobbi's honor.
Bobbi is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; her son, Scott (Cindy) Bredeson; her daughter-in-law, Sandra; her grandchildren, Travis (Erica) Bredeson, Kelsey (Dan) Wise, Beau (Alyssa) Bredeson, Ryan (Megan) Bredeson, Shannon Bredeson, and Shelby Spiker; her niece, Allison (Rob) Becker; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Signa Reiter; her brother, Richard Reiter; her son, Todd Bredeson; and her daughter, Debbie Spiker.
A service celebrating Bobbi's life will be held on July 25, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona at Love of Christ Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM.
We celebrate a life beautifully lived, a family deeply loved, and a legacy that will continue for generations.
