Robert Wendorff

MARSHALL--Robert Wendorff, age 89, of Marshall, Minnesota, died under the care of his family and hospice on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at his home. Memorial Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A luncheon for attendees will follow at the AmericInn Hotel in Marshall. Interment will be at 1:15 p.m. at the Bethel Community Cemetery near Garvin, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The evening will close with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, also at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Robert Wilfred Wendorff was born on October 27, 1936, in Island Lake Township, Minnesota. He was the son of Wilfred and Mildred (Albee) Wendorff. Bob was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Garvin, and he attended Tracy High School, graduating with the class of 1955. Bob immediately enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country from 1955 – 1959. While on leave, Bob was united in marriage to Ms. Joyce Ricketts on June 22, 1957.

Bob and Joyce made their home in Pensacola, Florida, while Bob was stationed there. In 1959, the couple made the permanent move to Marshall where they raised their sons, Rob and Brad. Bob spent 22 years working for the Appleton Silo Company before doing construction with Midwest Contracting, where he dedicated another 20 years.

Bob was a past member of the Marshall VFW and American Legion. He loved being outdoors, Bob thrived while camping, fishing, hunting, and tending to both his flower and vegetable gardens. Above all else, family came first, and he thoroughly enjoyed watching and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events. Bob's love of sports carried over to all Minnesota teams, especially the Minnesota Lynx.

Robert Wendorff died peacefully on July 1, 2026, at his home in Marshall, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 4 days. Blessed to be his memory.

He is survived by his two sons, Rob Wendorff (and Cecelia Pohlen) of Marshall, Brad (and Donna) Wendorff of Marshall; girlfriend, Donna Pinckney of Marshall; 5 grandchildren, Cassie (and John) Lewis of Dallas, TX, Matt (and Jamie) Wendorff of Marshall, Abigail Wendorff of Duluth, Randi Wendorff of Mankato, Ethan Wendorff of Marshall; 3 great-grandchildren Hensley, Lewis, Mallory; siblings, Darrel (and Linda) Wendorff of Tracy, Bev (and Curt) Wixon of Aberdeen, SD, Janice Lajoie of Sioux Falls, SD, Carol Radtke of Cottonwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Mildred Wendorff; wife, Joyce Wendorff, and brothers-in-law, Bill Radtke and Gary Lajoie.
