Betty Lou Tallarida (Babcock) passed away on July 16, 2026, from congestive heart failure at the age of 78. Betty was raised on the Babcock Family Farm south of Marshall, Minnesota. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1966. Betty then went to Mankato State College in Mankato MN. And graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then moved to Minneapolis and got a job at the Hennepin County Dept. of Public Assistance while always dreaming of moving to California. In about 1978 she moved to California where she lived for the last 50 years. Betty considered herself a "free spirit" and enjoyed California immensely.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erma Babcock, her brother Warner and sister Delores Nesteby. She is survived by her brother Wayne and many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends. A special thank you to cousin Jim Babcock, who provided continued support to Betty and Betty's brother Wayne as her health deteriorated. Betty's cremated remains will be returned to Minnesota and buried with other family members. There are no plans for a memorial service at this time.
