Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Tubbs

MARSHALL–Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Tubbs, age 95, passed away peacefully March 17, 2026, at the McLaughin Hospice House with her daughter Elaine by her side. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www.horvathfuneralservice.com. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.
Yvonne “Bonnie” Irene (Baert) Tubbs was born on August 3, 1930, in Marshall, Minnesota, to Camile and Margaret (Koltze) Baert. On June 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Arvid “Tuffy” Tubbs. The couple made their home in Marshall, where they owned and operated Tubbs Texaco. Bonnie received her GED and her Childcare Certificate at UMM in Morris, MN. After helping Tuffy with the station, Bonnie went on to teach Home Start, Headstart, and worked for Discovery Daycare. She devoted over 40 years working with children. She loved teaching and would always talk about her ‘Daycare’ children.
In her spare time Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with Pickles, her cat. She always looked forward to being with her children but mostly she loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bonnie was active in the Eagles Auxiliary and a Cub Scout leader.
She is survived by her children Ruth Tubbs of Robbinsdale, MN, Kathy Sturm of Dubuque, IA, Jim (Deb) Tubbs of St. Cloud, MN, Steve ‘Shorty’ (Cindy) Tubbs of Salina, KS, Deb (Doug) Hahn of Sartell, MN, Sandy Wilson of Marshall, MN, Dee Dee (Bruce) Garrels of Balaton, MN, Jack Tubbs of Marshall, MN, Joe (Colette) Tubbs of Tracy, MN, Dan (Karen) Tubbs of Redwood Falls, MN, Elaine Wixon of Minneota, MN, and Sarah Tubbs of Nicholson, GA; 26 grandchildren and over 50 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Darlene Groff and brother-in-law Larry Tubbs, many nieces, nephews, friends, and her cat Pickles.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tuffy Tubbs, son Robbie, granddaughter Katrina Wixon, son-in-law Willie Wilson, daughter-in-law Barb Trumble, parents Camile & Margaret Baert, brothers Denis and Bernie Baert, sister Eleanor Baune, father- and mother-in-law Dewey & Nina Tubbs, brothers- and sisters-in-law Laverne Baune, Vernon & Helen Tubbs, Marion Tubbs, Howard & Arletta Penske, Donald & Carol Tubbs, Richard & Bonnie Tubbs, Dean & Joan Tubbs, Lee Groff.
