Jill Boehne
MARSHALL–The funeral service for Jill Boehne, 57, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church and will continue on Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the cemetery at the Westerheim Cemetery in rural Minneota.
Jill was born on May 28, 1968, in Marshall, to James and Marilyn (Jacobson) Kompelien. Jill was baptized at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. She grew up on the family farm outside of Minneota, where she attended Minneota Public School. During her time there she played basketball, volleyball, softball, as well as participating in choir and band. After high school she attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, where she played intramural sports and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
In 1991, Jill was married to Scott Boehne. The couple spent 14 years together and raised their only daughter, Allison. Jill was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1994, shortly after having Allison and gave the best fight she could for 30+ years after being a cancer survivor. Jill lived in Cottonwood before moving to the Minneota Manor and then Morningside Heights in Marshall. Jill worked at several schools as a substitute teacher, ACMC, and Walmart.
Jill loved sports and coached softball. She loved attending all Allison’s high school basketball games and following the Minneota Sports teams. She enjoyed spending time with family and getting visits from her grandsons Jakobie, James, and Jaxson. She also loved coloring, quilting, and doing crossword puzzles. She passed on March 22, 2026, with family near, at Morningside Heights under hospice care.
She is survived by her only daughter Allison (Dylan Dubbeldee) Chheng of Cottonwood; grandchildren Jakobie, James, and Jaxson; mother Marilyn Kompelien of Minneota; sister Jackie (David) Esping of Porter, and their family, Courtney (Mike Everett) Kompelien, Derek (Jackie) Esping, Josh Esping; brother Stanley (Janelle) Kompelien of Granite Falls, and their family, Montana (Lexi Mueller) Kompelien, Shelby Nielsen, Mollie (Garrett) Londgren; and sister Jody Krou of Maple Grove, and her family Marilynn and Isis Krou, as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her father James Kompelien.
