Timothy Joseph Finnegan

ROCHESTER–It is with deep sadness and much love that the family of Tim Finnegan announce his death on February 5, 2026 at his home in Rochester, Minnesota under the care of Hospice.

Tim was born on June 19, 1947 in Marshall, Minnesota to John and Mary Debevec Finnegan. He was raised in Minneota, Minnesota before moving to Minneapolis. It was there he met his wife, Rene Narloch Finnegan.

He started his career as a salesman for Northup King. He eventually moved to California where he worked for Seed companies including Peto Seed and Moran Seed. He started his own company, Shamrock Seeds, in 1983.

Tim’s warm personality and genuine love for meeting people shone through in every interaction. He had an extraordinary ability to create meaningful connections. They were a testament to a man who was affable, generous, and welcoming.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Finnegan, his brother Jack and nephew Christopher Shepard.

He is survived by his wife, Rene; sisters: Kathleen (Bob) Shepard, Marcia (Paul) Rehkamp; nieces; nephews; and grand nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 11:00 am on February 17, 2026 at Lakewood Cemetery’s Garden Mausoleum, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bring memories of Tim.
