Glenn (Alvin) M. Miller was born December 27, 1932 in Clarkfield, MN to Mary (Driessen) and Arthur Miller. He grew up near Cottonwood, MN on his family homestead along with his younger brother Donald H. Miller. Glenn shared many stories about his time spent there and in surrounding areas that include Minneota, Normania, Green Valley, Wood Lake, Marshall, Ghent, and several others. When he talked about fishing, he always mentioned Lac qui Parle, and fishing off the Milan bridge, or about his dad taking him fishing at Strawberry Lake. He would always share stories of traveling to Milwaukee and Washington state to visit his relatives who lived there.
When he turned 18, he traveled to Europe and spent a few years of his life there. After he returned to the U.S., he began working and living in the Wheaton, MN area. During that time, he met Arlene Keoke, and relocated to the Peever, SD area in the early 50’s. They went on to have 6 children together: Kent, Trent, Brent, Stacey, Charlene, and Karena. After many years, Glenn and Arlene eventually went their separate ways, but they continued to have a life-long bond between each other until Arlene’s passing in 2022.
Glenn worked for the Craig Jacobsen Farm until the 1980’s and then began working for Lawrence Lundstrom Farms. After his many years of farm labor, he retired and helped his son Kent Miller farm and restore tractors.
Glenn passed away peacefully in his home near Peever on January 7th, 2026, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his children: Kent (Connie) Miller, Stacey (Sharla Max) Miller, Charlene Miller, Karena Miller, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents: Mary (Driessen) and Arthur Miller; his brother: Donald Miller; and his sons Trent Miller and Brent Miller.
