Roy Robert Ricke

EAGAN–Roy Robert Ricke, 94 of Eagan, MN, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025.
Roy was born May 16, 1931, in Morgan, MN, the son of Bernard and Erma (Palmer) Ricke. After graduation from high school, Roy proudly served as a sergeant in Army Intelligence during the Korean War. It was during this service that he married his high school sweetheart, Pat Reitter. They were married for 56 years before she passed away in 2011. Roy was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1621 serving Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, MN. He also volunteered as a fireman with the Marshall Fire Department, later becoming assistant fire chief.
Roy was truly a jack of all trades. He was known for being an innovative problem solver who could do anything from cracking a safe to developing multi-million dollar food processing lines. He is credited with four U.S. patents.
Remaining to cherish Roy’s memory are his children Tim (Kathy), Sue (John) VonDeLinde, Joe (Terry), and Jerry (Kassie); 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Carol DeKing; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Roy in death are his spouse, Pat; parents, Ben and Erma; brothers, Ben, Bill, Tom; and sister, Marie. Visitation will be held at Church of St. John Neumann, 4030 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan, MN on December 12, 2025, at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow the funeral luncheon at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
