TRACY — The funeral service honoring the life of Amy Munson, 54, of Tracy, will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church and will continue on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, 1-2 p.m. at Tracy Lutheran Church. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

After a three year battle with cancer, Amy died on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, under hospice care at her residence in Tracy.

Amy Virginia (Hoganson) Munson was born Aug. 6, 1970. Her father was a minister and the family lived in several communities in North Dakota. Amy graduated from high school in Lake Crystal. She received her first degree from Bemidji State University. On March 5, 1994, she was united in marriage to Jon Munson. The couple lived in Park Rapids for 18 years, where she provided daycare services for many families. She had a passion for children and was a child at heart. In 2010, they moved to Tracy. Amy worked as a Youth and Family Minister at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall, and for the last several years, at Tracy Lutheran Church.

Amy was passionate about her faith and she enjoyed working with and sharing this passion with local families, friends, and people she would meet. Amy loved being a Mom. She enjoyed family time whether going for walks, doing activities or reviewing the day’s events at the dinner table. Amy and Jon provided Foster Parent care and adopted five children through this experience. She was a lifelong learner with a pursuit of knowledge and spiritual growth. Amy had a great energy and she was enthusiastic about all of her endeavors. Fitting to her personality, her favorite color was rainbow glitter. She loved to have fun. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Jon, of Tracy, children Emily, Michael (Jordan), Matthew (fiancé Margaret Dolan), Tabitha, Virginia, Stella, Vincent, and Lina; siblings Dave (Debra) Hoganson of Marshall and Mike (Jan) Hoganson of Detroit Lakes, many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
