Danny Lee Boogaard

In his free time, Danny embraced the outdoors with fervor, finding joy in fishing, deer hunting, and spending cherished moments at Lake Superior and the picturesque Gunflint Trail. He enjoyed tending to his garden and yardwork. Danny was also a dedicated member of his community, having served as the former Commander of the Sons of the American Legion in Marshall, Minnesota, where he was known for his commitment to service and camaraderie.

Danny enjoyed attending his children’s and grandkid’s school programs and sports games. Just a few weeks ago he was sitting in the baseball dugout with his 9 year old grandson’s team. He was a HUGE MN Twins Fan! And Vikings Fan! He played on sports teams in high school, bowling teams his entire adult life and was very competitive at pool as well.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Joanne, his children Bryan Boogaard (Mandy Woltjer), Cory Boogaard, Nadine (Steven) Meyer, Daniel (Kayla Jade) Boogaard; step-children Hannah Lanoue, Joshua Rafferty, Noah Rafferty; siblings Steve (Nancy) Boogaard, Dianne (Duane) Odenbrett, Laurie Boogaard Cheryl Boogaard; 14 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews; also survived by his previous wife Pam Boogaard.

Preceded in death by former wife Dawn (nee Ryker) Boogaard; parents Clarence and Yvonne Boogaard.

Visitation 1:30-3 p.m.Monday August 4 with 3 p.m. Memorial Service at O’Connell Funeral Home 520 S. 11th St. Hudson. Interment Lind Community Cemetery, Lynd, MN
