He died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids, S.D.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Michael R. of Brookings, S.D., Kyle D. of Canton, S.D. and Brenda L. Dirckx of Brandon, S.D.; 10 grandchildren: and seven great-grandchildren.
