Mark Hemmingsen

SLAYTON — Services for Mark “George” Allen Hemmingsen, 72, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Burial will be at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton. Military honors accorded by the Slayton American Legion Post. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is entrusted with arrangements.

He died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

He was born Nov. 16, 1951, in Springfield, to Willard and Genevieve Ramsbacher Hemmingsen. He joined the Army. He served in Vietnam from August 1970 to August 1971. He later joined the Army National Guard, honorably separating in 1980.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori Scarset of Hector; one grandson; and one step-granddaughter; five siblings, Jim of Sanborn Dennis of Pine, Arizona, Linda Rathmann of New Ulm, Patty of Mankato, and Sandy Kraemer of Litchfield.
