REDWOOD FALLS — Graveside services for Edward “Ted” Gatfield Jr., 71, of Redwood Falls will be 3 p.m. today at the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery – Redwood Falls. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Stephens Funeral Service -Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 8, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Edward Carl and Dixie Fay (Bell) Gatfield. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February 1971 and served until October 1992. While in the Navy, he was stationed in California, Maine and Virginia.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Edward III, Hillary, Bill, Jon, and Bethany Gatfield, and Nick Kleinwachter and Blaine Kleinwachter; five grandchildren; sister, Ida Gatfield of Morton.
