John Swedzinski

July 9, 1955-Aug. 27. 2022

Mass of Christian Burial for John Swedzinski, 67, of rural Taunton will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Taunton.

John died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at his residence in rural Taunton.

John Francis Swedzinski was born July 9, 1955, in Canby, to Frank and Eldoris (Van Den Broeke) Swedzinski. He grew up on a farm southwest of Taunton and graduated from Minneota High School in 1973 where he was involved with many activities including sports and arts. He obtained his college degree from South Dakota State University. John worked in California and Kentucky for a time before returning to farm with his family near Taunton. John was a prankster with a hearty laugh. He enjoyed time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He followed their sporting activities and was considered their number one fan. John was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He believed in civil service; John volunteered as an election judge and was active with politics. He enjoyed history and was quite content with the simple things of life. John always enjoyed and looked forward to gatherings with his family.

He is survived by his siblings: Mary Alyce Swedzinski (Dan Loos) of East Hampton, CT, Kate (Fred) Ganter of Cuba City, WI, Greg (Julie) Swedzinski of Porter, Beth McMahon of Manteca, CA, William Swedzinski of Tyler, Todd (Darla) Swedzinski of Dawson and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Eldoris Swedzinski.
