Ruthine Van Overbeke

MAPLEWOOD — Ruthine Ann Van Overbeke passed peacefully surrounded by family May 21, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota, she was 74 years old. Ruthine was born to Roland Gary and Beverley VanDersluis-French on June 6, 1947, in Bemidji, Minnesota. She moved with her family to Heron Lake for a short time then to Minneota, Minnesota where she attended and graduated from Minneota High School in 1965.

In 1968 she married Ordell Walter Van Overbeke and together they enjoyed 53 years. Along the way Ruthine obtained an accounting degree from the Minnesota School of Business and worked for National Cash Register (NCR), American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T), and Tecweigh Industries.

Ruthine loved to travel, and over the years she was able to cruise the Panama Canal, Alaska, and tour parts of Europe. She is survived by her Husband Ordell of Maplewood, Children; Warren (Leanne) Van Overbeke, Lara Van Overbeke, her grandchildren; Michael (Casey) Van Overbeke, Austin (Alexis) Van Overbeke, Madison De’Maio, Mitchell Van Overbeke, and was a doting great-grandmother to; Jace, Sophia, Savanna, Skylar, Macey, Malakai, and Rose.

There will be a celebration of life held at the American Legion in North Saint Paul, Minnesota on June 25th at 12pm. Ruthine Ann Van Overbeke’s ashes will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 12th at 11:45 am.
