Werner Fischer

WABASSO — Mass of Christian Burial for Werner Fischer, 85, of Wabasso will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m. today at the church, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary service to follow. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial is in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at River Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Redwood Falls while surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 13, 1935, on the family farm in Waterbury Township, to Nick and Agatha (Pelzel) Fischer. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 and served until 1960 when he was honorably discharged.

Survivors include his wife, Monica; children, Sherri Oxley of Andover, Dave of Flower Mound Texas, Ken of Gilbert, Arizona, Nanci Calvin of Spicer; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Lensing, and brother, Nick, both of Wabasso.
