SLAYTON — Visitation for Charles Emil Asman, 92, will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton. A private family service will be at a later time. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Jackson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Slayton Presbyterian Church or to donors’ charity of choice.
He died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.
He was born on May 1, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael and Magdalena Pommeret Asman.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Slayton; three children, Deborah Krusemark of Stewartville, Randy of Hibbing, and Julia Opheim of Salina, Kansas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-children, Keith Buesing of Mason City, Iowa, Curtis Buesing of Scottdale, Arizona, Paula Olson of Mesa, Arizona, Tom Buesing of Springfield, and Mark Buesing of Boerne, Texas; nine step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
