Robert Alan Schrupp

Celebration of life for Robert Schrupp, 74 of Marshall formerly of Minneapolis, will be held at Legion Field shelter, on Saturday, June 5, 2 p.m. in Marshall.

He was born January 7, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN and was adopted by Orville and Sophia Schrupp of Balaton, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Peter Lutheran Church and attended Balaton Public School, graduating in 1965.

Robert was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Kathy) Farr in 2009 and made their home in Marshall after retiring.

Robert graduated from Anoka Ramsey Jr. College and the University of Minnesota. He worked his entire life in the medical field, working in surgery for over 45 years.

He enjoyed gardening, lawn care, traveling and sports, especially baseball and college basketball.

He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his great sense of humor, his honesty and integrity, his unwavering faith and his devotion to his wife and family.

Robert is survived by his wife Kathy, son Jeffrey Schrupp of South Carolina, daughters Stephanie Nyberg and Melissa Vanportfliet of Aiken, MN, stepsons Wayne Erbes, Gary Erbes and Jason Phillippe of Marshall, stepdaughter Melanie Wilgers of Rapid City, SD. Sisters Kathy Riemer and three grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Sophia Schrupp, sister Mary Lukanen, Janet Rogers & grandson Dawson Vanportfliet.
