Clarice M. Lambrecht was born on Aug. 9, 1928, to Adam and Margaret (Ludden) Helmberger in Madison, Nebraska. She moved with her family to Ivanhoe as a child, and the family began farming. Clarice graduated from Ivanhoe Public School in 1946. She enjoyed acting and was in several school plays during high school. She then moved to Shakopee, MN, and was a telephone operator. It was there that her best friend introduced her cousin, Mel Lambrecht, to Clarice. Mel and Clarice were married on August 17, 1948, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe and returned to Ivanhoe to begin farming in 1949. They later farmed in Shaokatan Township until 1967. Clarice was known as an extremely hard worker who took care of her house, children, yard and garden.

Mel and Clarice built a nightclub, which they operated for eight years. Clarice was the cook, and people traveled for miles to get one of her fantastic meals. They built a house on the shore of Lake Shaokatan where they lived until they eventually retired and moved to Ivanhoe.

Clarice was a member of the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic church. She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables from her garden, sewing and embroidering. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to old time music.

Clarice is survived by two sons: Ronald (Anne) Lambrecht of San Diego, CA, and Steven (Laura) Lambrecht of Williston, VT; three daughters: Susan Lambrecht of Ft. Myers, FL, Patty (Bruce) Ueland of Duluth, MN, and Pamela (Daral) Mazzarella of San Diego, CA; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Kathleen Thies, of Ivanhoe and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mel Lambrecht; infant daughter, Carol; brothers, Clem and Vince Helmberger; and sisters, Constance Helmberger, Lorene Libby, Marcella Kratz and Marilyn Miller.

Blessed be her memory.
