Colleen Tate
PARKERS PRAIRIE — Our globe trotting, dancing, and super sports fan mother and grandmother died of COVID 19 complications on Dec. 10 with her daughter holding her hand. Mom spent her last years at St William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie having reached the age of 93 years.
Colleen Kathryn Burnes Tate graduated from Tracy high school, attended Mankato State Teachers College, and raised six above-average kids in Morton. She later moved to Arizona where she lived and danced for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Tate, who died from Parkinson’s disease in 1998 and her sister Beverly Burnes, who died during heart surgery in 1958.
Colleen is survived by six children: Mike (Jo) of Lake Elmo, Barb (Larry) Unger of Taylors Falls, Dave (Nancy) of New Richmond, WI, Peg (Spencer) Kvam of Granite Falls, Terry (Jim) Sullivan of Alexandria, and John of Evansville; as well as 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
