Mark Tomasek

MARSHALL — Mass of Christian Burial for Mark Tomasek, 52, of Marshall, will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Mark passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at his group home residence.

Mark Donald Tomasek was born on June 1, 1967, to Donald and Loris (Buffington) Tomasek in Marshall. He was baptized in the Catholic faith. He lived in Sauk Center and Marshall his whole life.

Mark lived in various REM homes while in Marshall and had many housemates and staff over the years that he considered to be his family. Mark enjoyed listening to music and eating pizza on weekly trips to Pizza Ranch. He also enjoyed getting out and doing shredding and other activities at Advance Opportunities.

He is survived by cousins, his housemates and staff at his REM home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Loris Tomasek; brother Greg Tomasek; and grandparents, John and Pauline Tomasek and Clarence and Gladys Buffington.

Mark’s family would like to thank and express appreciation to REM Marshall for many years of care and love they provided to Mark throughout his life.
