SLAYTON — Services for Lloyd Duane Bennett, 85, of Hadley are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hadley Lutheran Church in Hadley. Burial is at Highland Home Cemetery in Hadley. Military honors accorded by the Avoca American Legion Post. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
He died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton.
He was born Oct. 16, 1934, on the family farm in Iona Township, Murray County, to J.C. and Dorothy (Lentz) Bennett. On April 2, 1957, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on April 1, 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Charletta of Hadley; son, Myron of Hadley; and daughter, Della of Slayton; siblings, Darlene Engler of Starbuck, Elvera O’Neil of Sedalia, Mo., Elroy of Worthington, and Gary of Wyoming, Minn.
