Jan. 6, 2020

PIPESTONE — Marvin William Kemnitz, 77, was born Feb. 19, 1942, to Everett and Lizzie (Bode) Kemnitz in Pipestone. He was baptized on March 29, 1942, at the Zion Evangelical Church in Pipestone. He grew up on the family farm in Northern Pipestone County and loved to do farm work, owning a Ford tractor that he dearly loved. He attended the Pipestone handicap school until he was 21 years old. When his parents retired from farming, he moved into Pipestone with his parents in 1969. In 1974, he moved into a home in Marshall where he loved to feed and watch birds and squirrels.

Marvin went to his heavenly home on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.

He loved to go to church or have anything to do with the church, including bible study or assisting with whatever he could in the church office. His church meant a lot to him, as did his friends and family.

Marvin is survived by his one sister, Delilah (William, Jr.) DeZeeuw of Pipestone; four nephews: Amos DeZeeuw, William (significant other, Kim Gates) DeZeeuw, Curt DeZeeuw, and Earl (Amy) DeZeeuw; great-nephews, Michael, Scott, Brian, Erik, and Cody; and many other loving friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lizzie Kemnitz.
