Beverly Schwing

BROOKINGS, S.D. — Mass of Christian Burial for Beverly A. Schwing, 89, Brookings, S.D., will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, Brookings, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. wake service at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish.

She died Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at the United Living Community, Brookings.

Beverly Anne was born Aug. 29, 1930, to Joseph Harold and Elsie (Ott) Daniels near Sherburn in Martin County. She was the oldest of 12 children. Beverly married Sebastian Schwing Nov. 9, 1974. at Sts. Peter and Paul, Ivanhoe. Sebastian was a widower with seven children who were the joy of her life.

Beverly is survived by her husband Sebastian; six children, Cecilia (Ron) Cheney, Brookings, S.D.; Dorothy (Joe) Popowski, Ann (Joe) Pavek, both of Ivanhoe; Laura Schwing, Shakopee; Edwin Schwing, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Elsie Schwing (Chris McCree), Brookings; son-in-law, Ron VanDenBroeke, Custer, S.D.; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, David (Karen) Daniels, Rochester, Tom Daniels, Arco, Laurel (Houston) Meriwether, Nazareth, Pa., Steve (Dana) Daniels, Maplewood and Daryl Daniels, San Francisco, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Gloria, granddaughter Allison, grandson Anthony, her parents, five brothers, Richard, Robert, James, Donald and Joseph and one sister Jeanne.
