Dorothy passed away peacefully Sept. 7  2018, at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was born April 2, 1919, in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of John and Clara (Albrecht) Mompier. She graduated from High School at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. She married Alexander Owen Kompelien, the love of her life, on July 31, 1937, in Glenview, Illinois  and became a mother, housewife and volunteer at Lutheran General Hospital. Dorothy and Owen lived in Palatine, Illinois, and retired to Bull Shoals, Arkansas, in 1975. Dorothy was a member of Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church in Bull Shoals and attended the Presbyterian Church of Bull Shoals and Redeemer Lutheran Church  in Mountain Home, Ark.

Dorothy loved her family and friends. She had an appreciation for beautiful music, art, theater and the lovely landscape of the Ozarks. She surrounded herself with beautiful things that she had collected over the years and photographs of her family. She could effortlessly beat you at a game of cards and  made sure to always prepare your favorite vegetable and dessert if you were coming over for dinner.

Dorothy is survived by her three daughters: Joyce Olson of Bozeman, Montana; Gayle Chesebro (Robert) of Greenville,  South Carolina; and Alexis Zubow of Flippin, Arkansas; and  11  grandchildren and  15  great-grandchildren:  Charissa Reid (Tim; children Anna, Olivia and Katherine) of Montana;  David Olson (Elaine; children Mark  A. and Megan Haskell (Carson)) of Washington; Kristen Chesebro of Missouri; Naomi Olson of Alaska; Todd Chesebro (daughter Rubie) of Florida;  Kevin Chesebro (Ashley; children Kaden and Kingston) of South Carolina; Elizabeth Johnson (Brent; son Dylan) of Arkansas; Katherine Farshler (Ron; children Evangeline and Sebastian) of Texas; Julie Chesebro (daughter Carys) of Georgia; and Margaret Hodges (Donny; children Preston, Alexandra and Aidan) of Arkansas.

She will be missed by so many who love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander Owen; two brothers, Lester and Norman Mompier; son-in-law, the Rev. Merville Olson; and grandson, Mark J. Olson.
