Elma Braun

SLAYTON — Services for Elma Irene Braun, 93, are at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Ann’s Church. Burial is at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Slayton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to Murray County Hospice or to the Slayton Public Library.

She died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was born May 8, 1923, in Sauk Centre to Edward and Mabel (Mills) VanVickle.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Bloom of Boerne, Texas, Linda Busch of Fulda, Janet Herrig of Iona, Jerry of Slayton, Mary Tennessen of Northfield, Don of Lynd, Brenda Gunnink of Comfort, Texas, Beth Kaufman of Fulda and Laurie Cross of Brewster; 31 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Vera Thoms of Earlville, Ill., Millie Krietinger of Earlville, Ill., and Alice Baumann of Alexandria.
