SMSU Exercise Science Program No. 3

MARSHALL — Southwest Minnesota State University’s Exercise Science Program has been ranked No. 3 in Minnesota by Plexuss Global Rankings.

In an effort to streamline the many college rankings each year, Plexuss.com created Plexuss College Rankings. In addition to gathering rankings of several sources, the site includes what it considers the most reputable ranking sources in order to create its own ranking system. Its methodology incorporates input from students, education partners, data scientists, employers, parents and high school counselors.

“We’re very happy to be ranked No. 3 in the state by Plexuss Global Rankings,” said Dr. Kris Cleveland, Associate Professor of Exercise Science. “We strive to have the highest quality program possible.”

The emphasis of the Exercise Science program is designed to give students a scientific understanding of the body’s response to exercise and the ability to analyze the efficiency of human movement. Graduates in Exercise Science have the knowledge to prescribe exercise to a wide variety of populations and instruct individuals on proper body mechanics and techniques of movement.
