Reminder: Marshall City Hall will close at noon Tuesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Gift certificates for MCS programs are available in the MCS office.

City of Marshall Municipal Building offices will soon be moved to temporary office space at Southwest Minnesota State University Social Sciences Building. The temporary office locations will be used for about a year and half to allow the renovation of the current City offices located at 344 W. Main St. The full relocation to SMSU will start Monday, Dec. 30, and City offices will not be fully operational until Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. Although the staff will make every effort to ensure quality service, residents and visitors may experience delays during the week Dec. 30. Customers who need access to City services during this time are encouraged to call the main City Hall phone number at 507-537-6760. During the estimated year and half renovation period, the City’s address for United States Postal Service mailings will remain the same address of 344 W. Main St. The City’s address for direct parcel delivery service will be City of Marshall, 1501 State Street, Attention City Offices. For City office needs while at SMSU, visitors will have designated “City Office Visitor Parking” available to them, and signs will be posted to direct visitors to the temporary offices. Any questions about the temporary relocation can also be directed to City Clerk Kyle Box at 507-537-6760.

ECFE-Popular Parenting (for birth-5 years with a parent) will be from 9-11 a.m. Fridays (Jan. 3 – May 15) at the ECFE Office in the Marshall Middle School. Fee: $76 per family. (Sliding fee scale applies to this class.)

Learn to Skate Lessons will begin on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Red Baron Arena & Expo. Lessons, available for preschool children and up, will be Saturday mornings through Feb. 22 (no class on Jan. 11, 18 and Feb. 1).

Girl’s Junior Basketball will meet on Saturday mornings from Jan. 4 through Feb. 8 at Park Side School. Preschool through 1st grade will meet from 9-9:45 a.m. Grades 2-3 will meet from 9:45-10:45 a.m. The first four Saturdays will be working on basics and developing basketball skills, and the final two Saturdays will be structured towards game play and competition. Fee: $40 per person.

Boy’s Junior Basketball will meet on Saturday mornings from Jan. 4 through Feb. 8 at the Marshall Middle School. Open Baseball will be Sundays from Jan. 5-March 8 at the Marshall Middle School (will not meet on Feb. 2). Grades 5-8 will meet from 4-5 p.m. Grades 9-12 will meet from 5-6 p.m. Batting cages and pitching mounds will be available. Fee: $40 per person.

Junior Tigers Indoor Soccer Camp will be Sundays (Jan. 5-26) in the Park Side School gym. Grades K-2 will meet from 12:30-1 p.m., and grades 3-5 will meet from 1:15-2 p.m. Develop soccer skills with the MHS Girls Soccer coaches and players. Fee: $30 per person.

Modified Ashtanga Yoga will be from 5:34-6:45 p.m. Tuesdays (Jan. 7-Feb. 11) at the Adult Community Center. This class will involve sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses and end with resting. Fee: $50 per person.

Kid’s 3-D Scrapbooking will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays (Jan. 7-28) at Treasured Times (313 W. Main St.). Boys and girls in grades 1-5 will learn new techniques for making one of a kind, three-dimensional scrapbooks to share with friends and family. Fee: $25 per person.

ECFE-Positive Discipline (for birth-5 years with a parent) will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays (Jan. 7-March 17) in the ECFE Classroom in the Marshall Middle School. Fee: $28 per family. (Sliding fee scale applies to this class.)

Tiger After School Theater (for boys and girls in grades 5-8) will be in the Marshall Middle School Theater on Wednesdays (Jan. 8-Feb. 5) from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Performance will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. Fee: $45 per person.

ECFE – First Friends (for birth – 5 year olds with a parent) will be Jan. 8 – May 13 (Wednesdays) from 9-11 a.m. in the ECFE Classroom in the Marshall Middle School. Fee: $60 per family.

MCS Youth Gymnastics Lessons will be on Jan. 11-Feb. 8 (Saturday mornings) at Prestige Gymnastics Studio (106 E. Railroad St. in Lynd). Classes are open to boys and girls ages 3-12. Times and fees are based upon age and level.

Open Softball for grades 7-12 will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturdays from Jan. 11-March 7 (will not meet on 1/18) at Marshall Middle School. Batting cages will be available. Fee: $40 per person.

Driver Education Classroom – Sessions 6A and 6B: The next classroom session of Driver Education will be Jan. 12 through Feb. 3. The program will begin with a Parent/Teen session at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at the MERIT Center, and classroom sessions will be at the MERIT Center. Students must be age 14 before they begin the classroom.

Pathfinders will be 3:05-5:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Marshall Middle School. The program will include a snack, team activities, a wide range of instructor-led programs and/or projects which include physical fitness, arts/crafts, cooking and much more. Fee: $50 per semester.

Emotional Freedom will be from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Adult Community Center. Learn how easy it is to resolve fear, anger, self-limiting beliefs, and/or other issues. Fee: $20 per person.
