SMSU Theatre presents ‘T.I.C. (Trenchcoat in Common)’

The second show of SMSU Theatre’s 51st season is “T.I.C. (Trenchcoat in Common)” by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb. Performances are Dec. 3-8 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. Show tickets are $10 and are available at www.SMSUtickets.com, and at the door. All performances are in the SMSU Black Box Theatre (Fine Arts 112), with free parking available in lot B-1. All performances are free to SMSU students with a valid student ID. Because of mature language and content, this show is best suited for ages 14 and older.

Fast-paced, inventive, and full of quirky characters, T.I.C. is a darkly comic adventure in which a lonely, bored teen uses technology and social media to spy on and blog about her neighbors. But when one of them goes missing, she must team up with another misfit and venture into the real world to solve the mystery.

Theatre, T.I.C. is directed by guest artist Matthew Murry, a professional actor, director and educator. Theatre Professor Mike Lenz of Cottonwood, is the scenic, lighting and co-sound designer and technical director. Raxson Rax, a junior Theatre Arts major from Milan, is the co-sound designer. Theatre Professor Sheila Tabaka of Marshall, is the costume designer. Theatre Professor Nadine Purvis Schmidt of Estelline, S.D., is the producer. Allie Lamote, a freshman theatre arts and communications studies double major from Marshall, and Elizabeth Zoya, a sophomore theatre arts major from Maplewood, are the stage managers. The cast includes:

· Spider (Antoinette) Fox-Zachar, a sophomore art major from Crystal, as Shye

· Thomas Knudson, a senior theatre arts major from Walnut Grove, as Dad

· Kayla Lindberg, a sales representative for the Marshall Independent from Marshall, as Claudia

· Emma Runyan, a freshman political science and psychology double major, communication studies minor from Montevideo, as Sabra

· Olivia Sanders, a freshman Early Childhood Education major from Lester Prairie, as Kid

· Jordan Stangeland, a senior psychology and theatre arts double major from Marshall, as Terrence
