Search conducted for missing Lynd resident

LYND — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search Thursday for a Lynd resident who was reported missing. Sheriff Eric Wallen said the search focused on areas near the residence of Orion Charwood in Lynd. The Sheriff’s Office is also asking area residents to contact them with any information on Charwood’s whereabouts. The Minnesota State Patrol, and members of the Lynd, Russell, Ghent and Marshall Fire Departments assisted with the search Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office said. Trial dates changed for arson case

MARSHALL — A trial for a man charged with arson has been rescheduled to March, Lyon County District Court records said. Moises Reyes, 29, appeared in court for a settlement conference on Tuesday. Last month, Reyes pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree arson. A criminal complaint alleges that in July, Reyes set his mother’s house in Florence on fire. At Tuesday’s hearing, Reyes’ attorney withdrew a demand for a speedy trial, and also requested that the settlement conference be continued to a later date.
