Crop duster crash reported in Murray County
MURRAY COUNTY — The Murray County Sheriff’s Office reported that a crop dusting plane crashed in the county on Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff Heath Landsman said responders were asking the public to stay away from the crash site while the incident was under investigation.
In a comment posted on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said the pilot was in stable condition.
Landsman’s post did not give details on the crash or its location, or identify the pilot of the plane. However, he did say law enforcement had barricaded the area around the crash site to prevent people from tampering with the scene. He was also urging people to stay away because of the chemicals the plane was carrying.
In the post, Landsman said anyone caught beyond the barricaded area could face charges for trespassing and tampering with evidence.
