Two injured in Hwy. 23 detour crash
COTTONWOOD — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Lyon County Road 9, the Minnesota State patrol said. A Cottonwood man and a Marshall man were both taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center.
The crash was reported at 10:31 a.m. at the intersection of Lyon County Road 9 and 330th Street, the State Patrol said. County Road 9 is currently serving as a detour of Minnesota Highway 23 during bridge construction near Green Valley.
A 2012 Kia Forte driven by Landon Gabriel Teske, 18, of Cottonwood, was traveling southbound on County Road 9 and a 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Jarret Michael Beebout, 23, of Marshall, was traveling northbound when the two vehicles collided.
Both Teske and Beebout were taken to Avera Marshall with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Ambulance and the Cottonwood Fire Department all responded at the crash scene.
