One injured in Hwy. 59 crash

SLAYTON — A Slayton man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning in Murray County, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

Daniel Walter Jensen, 63, was taken to the Murray County Medical Center, and then to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.

The crash was reported at 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Highway 30 east, the State Patrol said. A 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Jensen was northbound on Highway 59 at the time of the crash. Jensen lost control, and the motorcycle left the roadway, coming to rest in the southbound ditch, the State Patrol said.

The State Patrol reported that Jensen was not wearing a helmet. Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office, and Slayton Fire and Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
