Two injured in Hwy. 23 crash

YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 23, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 3:48 p.m. in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County. A 1998 Ford pickup driven by George Arthur Slettedahl, 84, of Cottonwood, and a 2020 Ford F350 driven by Matthew Lee Palmer, 46, of St. Francis, were both northbound on Highway 23 at the time of the crash. The two vehicles collided near County Road 41, the State Patrol said.

Both Slettedahl and Palmer were taken to Avera Granite Falls hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office also responded at the scene.
