Two injured in Hwy. 59 crash

LYON COUNTY — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 59, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A Marshall man and an Ivanhoe man were taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 1:16 p.m. in Sodus Township. A 1997 Dodge Dakota driven by Michael Sean Mahon, 49, was southbound on Highway 59 at the time of the crash, and a 2002 Buick Rendezvous driven by Lance Reed Iversen, 37, was northbound. The two vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.

Both Mahon and Iversen received non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
