Truck strikes cows near Redwood Falls
REDWOOD FALLS — A truck traveling on a Redwood County road collided with a group of cows Friday night, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said. A news release from the Sheriff’s Office said the crash damaged the vehicle, but the occupants were not injured.
The crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. near the intersection of Redwood County Road 17 and Redwood County Road 25. A 2015 GMC driven by Brandon Joseph Lechner, 31, was northbound on County Road 17 when four cows started to cross the highway. Lechner was unable to brake and struck multiple cows, the Sheriff’s Office said. Neither Lechner nor a passenger in the truck were injured, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The news release did not say what the condition of the livestock involved in the crash was.
